View Full Version : Arma 3 Screenshots

Just starting a new thread for this because I'm taking so many :D

Was playing with ginger and Fatty tonight and ginger 'accidentally' laid a mine under my chopper when he was trying to get in. As we took off (him on board) there was this almighty boom from below us which knocked my choppers engines out and this was the result. Before camp shot first to give you an idea of what it looked like, gingers aftermath second and third shots...

He took ALL our assets out in spectacular fashion. Armoured cars, left over choppers, ammo, weapons...

Fatty crashed his chopper and this was the result, a rocket like fuselage flying through the sky

Fatty crashing again

Quite proud of this one, my first aerial kill in Arma 3

Scuba mission behind enemy lines with Fatty

Charges set, BOOM.

God I can't wait to play this...

03-12-2013, 10:56 AM
I'd like to get something set up for our community, either a similar tour (player vs player with lightly scripted scenarios that change each week depending on the outcome of the previous battle, we could write the missions during the week potentially?), or a vs AI campaign where we write/create missons designed for large co-operative play and then tackle them as an organised force! :)

I don't have any experience with serious ARMA communities or tours and I know a few other people have here so maybe we can get together and chat about some ideas. There's a lot of possibilities here! :D

03-12-2013, 11:32 AM
Definitely like the sound of this Autumn

03-12-2013, 12:09 PM
Yeah that'd be great

03-12-2013, 05:07 PM
yeah that sounds worth looking in to

03-12-2013, 05:25 PM
still could be so much better..... but not as ****ed as arma 2... n im an arma hater since it should be operation flashpoint!!!

03-12-2013, 05:44 PM
Admit it ginge, you were enjoying it last night :D

03-12-2013, 07:21 PM
This game looks so good, I can't wait to play it for myself. I really like the idea of setting up a tour for this as well, sounds like it could be fun with either way you described.

03-12-2013, 07:50 PM
The only obstacle I can see for a PVP centric tour is numbers, I suppose we will have to see how many people buy into the game and want to work with it :) but I'm game for trying to work with both ideas! Looking forward to the Alpha lite invites going out on the 14th so we can get some more people in.

Dude did you buy it in the end then? :P Saw you playing it on steam!

03-13-2013, 12:54 AM
I think I need to play with you guys sometime.. maybe that'll make it more fun.

03-13-2013, 08:13 AM
I don't see numbers being a problem at all. I think the Arma community would embrace a tour. I've been talking to someone who plays almost nothing but Arma with a pretty large community and he thinks it's the perfect game to do a tour.

I believe it wouldn't just be successful but that the two are so well fit for each other that it would totally take off if executed correctly.

03-13-2013, 12:29 PM
Good idea on a tour! There is a very large Arma community as LunaTik said, so it could be a big positive draw. Plus the more people we get here - for any game - the larger the community, the more players who might pick up other and new games.

03-13-2013, 12:59 PM
I was only thinking amongst the people here! I hadn't thought about the larger Arma community so that's a good point guys!

03-13-2013, 05:24 PM
I am very interested in this game. Would love to play with you guys in some sort of tournament. All videos, and screens look great, but i am afraid that it wont run on my pc. Thats why i dare to ask for invite to alpha lite, to try if it will work. Games are expensive here, especially on steam, and i can not afford to buy game, and put it on shelf.

Yes I bought it the other day. Decided it was worth the £20 for the whole game form alpha onwards.

After getting a ton of lag in-game on a 50 man server on my first run of the game, I spent the whole of yesterday cleaning out dust and overclocking my i7 920 from 2.66Ghz to 3.63Ghz. So far seeing a big improvement in single player showcase mission. Much more steady FPS around 30.

If steam games are expensive where you live syrir look into getting a friend in another country (where it's cheaper) to buy it and gift it to you? I've read on the steam forums that people do this, but I don't know how it works with localisation and if it's region locked so you might want to do a bit of research into that if you try it.

Few screens from the mission we ran tonight. Escape from Stratis, it's one of the default co-op missions. Start at the south of the island and work your way off by any means.

Shot down a chopper, one of our guys patched it up and we had our escape...

Stopped off for a little demolition on the runway before leaving though...

03-29-2013, 01:51 PM
nice one lads, good to see you all back safe and sound after your mission :D

03-29-2013, 04:51 PM
Pushing another car is not necessarily successful

03-29-2013, 06:03 PM
Dang, i think i want to test this game.
Any free key left? :|

Dang, i think i want to test this game.
Any free key left? :|If there is, just so you know the free key doesn't allow multiplayer and just allows you to look at 3 example campaigns. Still worth playing it though.

03-29-2013, 10:13 PM
Oh, i thought you were able to play campaing with other friends. Anyway, gotta test this.

03-30-2013, 01:37 PM
Oh, i thought you were able to play campaing with other friends. Anyway, gotta test this.Yeah I wish. The only way you can do multiplayer is if you buy the alpha from steam. When you do that you get the full alpha. The free invites just give you Alpha LITE.

Gotcha. Thanks, dude!

03-30-2013, 03:45 PM
I still have two Lite keys aswell!

Steam name: thedude631

03-30-2013, 04:44 PM
Thanks, guys! But for some reason my Steam account wont let me add friends. It seems to be my account is "limited" now. Can you please try to add me? It's -------------

03-30-2013, 04:50 PM
Presumably you have used your Steam account to make purchases before right?

Just wondering because that's the only time I've heard of someone having a limited account - it was someone who hadn't bought anything from Steam or had any Steam games

edit: when i try to add you it says

This user has not yet set up their Steam Community profile.
If you know them encourage him/her to set up their profile and join in on the gaming!

03-30-2013, 04:56 PM
Done! I've acceptd your invitation already.
Thanks in advance!

Edited: Yes, i use this account around a year or two years ago for get BFBC2 and Vietnam, but i barely use it.

Just thought I haven't posted any screens for a while and we ran an awesome insurgency ops last night travelling nearly the entire island clearing out insurgents, interrogating leaders for the whereabouts of more weapons caches and demoing whatever we found there. Here's some highlights.

The map late in the mission, green areas are locations we've swept for caches and have cleared or found nothing and moved on.

Insertion via chopper lifted boat

...and we're away! Brace for landing ladshttp://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/901001920643894667/D55A7BEAA2858C950D1E9B463CE0B561E69893ED/

safely down on the water, moving to pick up our chopper pilot for the beach assault

sigidi and myself on our way to the LZ with our other fireteam member flannel.

After rendezvous with the rest of Alpha squad we hit a cache hard, one of their leaders goes down after taking a bullet in the thigh so we secure the perimeter and patman makes sure he doesn't radio in any reinforcements or make any stupid moves.

we secure the cache while our medic gets the guy on his feet and patman interrogates him, he reveals the location of a cache further into the heart of the island.

clear! cache blown. moving to next objective, looks like we're on foot lads, HQ have denied evac

a little later on we take a hunter instead in a small convoy

mission end

07-12-2013, 02:45 PM
few more screenies :)

07-12-2013, 02:47 PM
And some CAS ones in the new Mi-48

These ones are of the skyfire rockets which are being laser designated by the team on the ground. (the hexagons on the screen on the hill below the chopper).

07-17-2013, 09:27 AM
Few from last nights mission

mounting up

Using the UAV to check Alpha's movements through the town (they're the white dots)

demoing a cache in town

HALO drop into a dangerous area (shame about the error message) this is sigidi coming down

moving up on a suspected cache location

We found one, so set up demolition and blew it sky high. Nearly took out our evac chopper in the process

07-17-2013, 11:07 AM
Nice screenshots, was fun again!

07-18-2013, 09:13 AM
Nice screenshots!

07-23-2013, 10:30 AM
This is all from one mission that took place over 3-4 hours.

CAS. Never gets boring seeing it come in :D

Our 2 man fireteam moves in. Not an ideal situation!

farmhouse clear, we call in evac but it gets shot down not far from us. We're on our own from here on.

nice evening lighting

Ghosthawk (future Blackhawk) side door gunner at sunset.

After sunset we find a camp in the forest and under the cloak of darkness attack from multiple angles. They don't stand a chance and we manage to get their team lead alive (although wounded). We get him up for interrogation and he reveals the last cache.

Back to base to rearm, then on to that final cache

Cache found, cache detonated. BOOM! :D

Celebratory glow sticks and gunfire! Mission Complete. Love the night time lighting in this game.

07-31-2013, 04:16 PM
Few more from the last week or two :)

We dropped a couple of APCs in for a naval assault here (chopper out of sight to the right)

Taking mortar fire!

Providing recon

Scout sniper and spotter try to sneak up on an ifrit at night, it didn't work so the AT team blew it sky high :D Had to then get in there and drag the spotter out for medics to come and get him up.

Ghosthawk popping his flares as he passes over us as we head into an operation.

Here's a load more from recent times :) mostly playing with fixed wing on Altis. Been working on our formation flying and CAS and a few dogfights for fun :D

09-09-2013, 02:42 PM
What the planes like to fly, look great!

09-09-2013, 02:49 PM
What the planes like to fly, look great!

Fun! Well I like them anyway. Easy to get in the air and fly around but in dogfights it's critical to watch your airspeed and altitude. This ain't no battlefield 3! (But it's also not DCS)

From the top of my head - Fire up steam, right click on your arma 3 in your library, go to properties, then beta and opt in to dev build and you'll get the new island and the jets, MBTs etc :)

Full release is this thursday.

09-09-2013, 03:48 PM
i need to get back into this, but everytime i see my Arma3 icon a wave of bordem floats over me :/

Ill get the dev build on tonight n give some fixed wing flying a try, maybe thats my kinda thing
